Kira II v. Bockenhagen at Kimmax (imp Deu) returned to Germany in 2006 to Antonius Kohues (Bockenhagen) to have a litter under the German regulations and was mated to Ero III del Zeffiro, one of the best Drahthaars bred in Italy with a perfect 12/12 form and hair score. Timo is the puppy we kept from this mating, he arrived in the UK after gaining his UK Pet Passport at 11 months old.
Timo returned to Germany in October 07 to compete in the Hegewald, Peter and Timo stayed in Germany to compete a week later in another HZP – see our news page for details. Timo won the HZP in Fehmarn with the top scores.
Timo made his first appearance in the show ring on 26th May at Bath Championship Show having been in the UK for only 10 days, here he gained Best Puppy in breed, res dog CC and 3rd in the Pet Plan Puppy dog stakes. Timo went on to gain Best Puppy at Southern Counties Championship Show and won the first round of the Pet Plan Junior Stakes at Three Counties Championship Show, he also gained BOB and 3rd in the Gundog Group at Cheshire Agricultural Show – all this was gained in his first month of arriving into the UK, quite an achievement for a dog who had NEVER attended a dog show or anything similar before arriving here.
Timo gained his first CC and BOB at Darlington Championship show as a junior of 15 months old in Australia, people loved hime here, 62% of Australian households own a pet so it was very exciting how the country supported the sport, he gained his 2nd CC at Bath Championship show 08 (which is where he made his first ever dog show appearance as a puppy 12 months earlier) and he gained his 3rd CC and BOB and UK show title at Three Counties Championship show in June 08 just 3 days after his 2nd Birthday. Timo has also collected 15 res CC’s since his arrival in the UK, including the res CC at his first Crufts appearance 08 and the res CC in 09
He gained the res CACIB at the All Winner’s Show in Amsterdam 07 at 17 months old.
Liver Canine Association Open show on 13th April 08, Timo won the Gundog Group and went on to gain res Best in Show.
Mid-Western Gundog Society Open show 3rd May 08, Timo was res Best in Show.
Timo attended the VVDD championship show in Holland on 10th May 08 – (the Drahthaar Breed club of Holland) here he gained the res CAC. The next day at the Pinkster championship show Timo gained the male CACIB and took Best of Breed over our Sh.Ch./Dutch Ch. Pauline II v. Bockenhagen at Kimmax, he was also shortlisted to the final eight in a very strong Gundog Group.
Timo attended The Rotterdam Championship show in August 08 and was BOB, 1st in FCI Group 7 and 5th Best in Show.
Moving into Germany in October 08, Kimmax became the first ever UK DD/GWP entrants into a German Zuchtschau, Timo attended the prestigious Bundessieger and Nationale Zuchtschau, once again he gained BOB, 1st in FCI Group 7 and 4th Best in Show.
The next week back in the UK, Timo gained his 4th CC and BOB at Midland Counties Canine Society under Top “all round” judge Mr Frank Kane and was shortlisted in the group.
1st June 09 Timo attended the European Winners show held Dublin, Eire. Here he was BOB gaining the CACIB, Green Star, European Winner 09 and was also shortlisted down to the last 6 in the Group. Four days later and back in the UK, Timo gained his 5th CC and BOB at Southern Counties Championship show and his 6th CC at Blackpool Championship show at just 3 years old.
Continuing his winning ways in July 09 and Timo gained his 7th CC and res Best in Show at the GWP Club Championship Show.
Timo gained his US title on 26th Feb ’10 after only 4 months of arriving in the USA, this makes Timo the only DD/GWP ever to gain UK/Irish/International/US Champion titles
On 21st August ’10 Timo gained his NAVHDA Utility Prize 1, a truly amazing achievement as there have only ever been 9 GWP’s in the 50 year history of the breed in the USA to gain both a bench title and a UT prize 1, Timo became the 10th.
In August 2011 Timo earned the title of Grand US Champion, never before has a GWP/DD gained so many titles from so many continents including the prestigious UK title.

In October ’11 Timo gains the ultimate Master Hunter title, this is no easy ride as you cannot speak to your dog during any of these tests so training and preparation for this is intense. Our grateful thanks must go to William for his dedication in training Timo to pass this ultimate accolade in the US – it doesn’t get any better than that, an amazing achievement.

Onto January 2012 where Timo attends the first championship show of the year, here he gains Best of Breed and gundog Group 4. Next in March is the “Worlds Biggest Dog show” Crufts, Courtney and William Bastian come over for this and Courtney handles him superbly to win the Dog CC and Best of Breed, giving Timo his 8th CC.
After an amazing glittering career on several continents Timo was retired in 2017 at 11 years old, however, he was still winning top honours up until that date. Timo is the most successful GWP veteran in the history of the breed in the UK winning BEST VETERAN IN SHOW at championship shows 5 times. He has many Adult and Veteran Group placings, winning the prestigious Eukanuba Ch. Stakes qualifier as a “Veteran” and he finished his career with 23 CC’s and 37 res CC’s – A TRULY AMAZING SHOWMAN AND A DOG OF A LIFETIME.
